Obviously, I was excited when I heard that I was chosen to be part of this classroom makeover grant process...who wouldn't be? I had all kinds of ideas about what I would order had I been given the chance in August when I first learned that I was awarded the grant. However, I had no idea how much the journey would change my outlook on teaching/learning in my third grade classroom. This is so much more than "new furniture" being ordered for my classroom. It has changed my thinking about not only space, but movement in my classroom, the input and space ownership of my kids, and so much more.
To be honest, this process has been amazing for me and I haven't even received the new furniture yet. In addition to changing my thinking, which was awesome enough, it has also reignited a passion in me for innovative thinking and teaching in general.
