This process has made me stop and reflect quite a bit. I've had different seating choices for quite a few years. Things like a futon, bean bags, big pillows, bucket seats, video chairs, rocking chair, etc. I never really stopped to notice how kids need movement. How they will adjust as needed for comfort and learning. The old me would remind them that they need to sit up straight in their chairs and keep their feet on the floor. Through this process, I have learned to let some of that go. As long as they are safe and are not hindering the learning of others, it is okay to allow them to stand and work, or adjust their seating to fit their need. Here are just a couple of examples...
